The mats do a good job of preventing litter from being tracked throughout the house.
I now have 4 litter mats. They are all this type (soft rubber, ridged). Two are solid colors from Petco; 2 are Cats Rule Neutral stripe. Cats rule from amazon was cheaper and the color works better.
There have been some comments about the odd colors of cats rule mats, but the neutral stripe is not overwhelming by any means and has the advantage of not showing litter as much as dark mats (my other two are medium blue and medium grey/green).
Cleaning is alsy pretty easy. To prevent too much litter from building up on the mats, every couple of days I vacuum them. When more litter is in the grooves, I take it outside and shake it out. For a complete cleaning, I spray with water/bleach solution (same used for cleaning litter boxes) and wipe them down with paper towels.

I hate to leave bad reviews but i feel obligated to keep people from wasting their money on this one.
The color: It is not a neutral stripe. It is a sage green, darker green, yellow, and white stripe. I was expecting browns and tans or gray and white.
The material: I didn’t realize it was just going to be a rubbery plastic material. It’s like that cheap stuff you can get to line your drawers or cabinets only it’s slightly thicker. It is NOT worth [...] I could have gotten a roll of that cabinet lining stuff for a couple dollars.
Additionally, my cat can’t stand how it feels on her paws. It sticks to her paws as she walks across it. She spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get into her litter box without having to walk on it. She finally had to walk across it but she flicks her paws ever step. This of course throws litter EVERYWHERE. It is completely counterproductive.
I am going to give it a couple more weeks to see if my kitty will get used to it and stop the paw flicking. If she doesn’t we are going to have to replace it with something else.
Honestly, i should give this one star considering how unhappy i am with this mat but it does have one redeeming quality. The kitty always goes to the litter box area if she has a hairball issue. If she were to throw up on this mat it should be very easy to clean off.

These mats are wonderful! They hold the litter that the cats get out of the litterbox. They are a nice soft texture, so the cats don’t mind stepping on them. I’ve tried other litter mats that are hard plastic spikes, and the cats jump over them to avoid them. If they get soiled, they can be hosed off and hung out to dry.
