This plush little “ferret cave” is the very type of place that ferrets like to curl up in for a nap. I had a couple outside of my two ferrets’ cage plus one in the cage in case they got tired of their hammocks. This type of safe sleeping place is particularly important when your ferret is outside the cage, because you can never know when they are going to decide to take a snooze. If you don’t provide a place for them, they’ll make their own and you may have a hard time finding them, thus jeopardizing your peace of mind and their safety.

This review is for the Hide-N-Sleep Fish by Marshall. Like the others I have purchased from the Hide-N-Sleep line (I also have the Octo-Play and the Ele-Fun) this toy has quickly become a favorite with all 4 of my ferrets. I have 2 baby ferrets under 6 months of age and 2 older ferrets between 2-3 years of age, all love these toys! I decided to buy this fish because of how much my fuzzy group loved their Octo-play and Ele-Fun ones, and I am very happy that I did! When I opened the package I was happy to see that this was as adorable in person as pictured in the item description. As with the other ones, when my ferrets saw this fish, their expressions and antics were priceless. They played with this new toy through most of the evening until my male ferret claimed it as his sleep sack. Since then, this has been a favorite with my ferrets and I plan on buying the others in the set (I can’t wait to try the Alligator one.)
More about the Hide-N-Sleep Fish version: When I first opened this item, I was surprised by how soft the material is. Durable fabric for my chewy little monsters. The size of this item is small in comparison to the other versions in the Hide-N-Sleep line. (The Octo-play toy is large while the Ele-Fun toy is medium) This fish is the perfect size for using inside a larger Ferret cage (I have a 2 level Ferret Nation cage) for both playtime and another sleep sack. This fish is also a great size for outside of their sleeping cage as ferrets need several sleepy sacks while running around the house whenever they need a nap break. Vibrant in colors, this fish is quite adorable! Orange head with glass like orange eyes/black pupils securely fastened on. The mouth is a very large opening with yellow lips easily large enough for the full grown ferret to come and go. I often find 2 ferrets heads poking out, so generous opening in my opinion. All the fins & tail are darker blue and the front side fins have crinkly stuff inside which my ferrets go crazy for. The main body is light pink with dark pink polka dots are random size. Also, the bottom belly is a darker pink. Inside the Fish is an attached jingle ball made of durable plastic and attached permanently with a white cord loop. 2 things to note: 1. There is only one opening, the mouth. 2. The entire body is also padded for a very snuggly nap.
This toy is great for the price as it doubles as both a toy for playing hide-n-seek while attacking the jingle ball and crinkle ears while also being a snuggly, warm place to nap after a satisfying play time. Thoughtfully designed with the ferrets comfort and play in mind. Truly an excellent purchase for us and one I would recommend to anyone looking at buying a Ferret sack and/or new toy. What makes this even better is that with it’s smaller size, you can take this anywhere and it can also be used in larger ferret cage. My ferrets wholeheartedly approve of this item, lol.

CONS:
* None so far. The fabric is holding up to my younger baby ferrets and the pair of adult ferrets. My ferrets adore it. As with the other Hide-N-Sleep toys of this line, I am VERY happy with the quality and hours of fun and naps my ferrets have with these toys.

I bought this for my Caique . He loves playing with any paper tube he’s given. So I had been looking for something he could get inside off to play. This toy was an instant hit. I’ve never seen a similar toy made for birds. Five stars for this toy!
