I volunteer with a humane society and often am asked this by folks unable or unwilling to purchase traditional flea control methods.

Sprinkle a little bit of garlic powder in your animal’s food. Dog’s love the flavor, and it acts as a natural flea repellant. (Only a half a tsp or so is needed.)
