Question by Anthony C: accidentally bought sentry pro flea control for dog over 66 lbs. my dog is about 5 pounds?
Im getting a new puppy and I accidentally bought the one month flea control for dogs over 66lbs. I am getting a maltese/poodle puppy later today that is about 5 lbs. Is it ok if i only apply a little bit of the tube?

I was warned not to use the Sentry flea/tick medications. I would return it and use something else like frontline plus. You wouldn’t know exactly how much to apply, and you could risk burning their skin (chemical burns) or making them sick internally from the pesticides, or not applying enough and getting lyme disease from a tick or flea infestation.

Don’t forget you need to get a heartworm pill like Interceptor after the vet does a heartworm test–don’t try giving an otc one or one from the vet without testing first because it could be deadly to give a heartworm positive dog a heartworm pill.
